Director, Investments and Development, Busac Real Estate
As the director of investment and development at BUSAC Real Estate, Alexandre Ménard is actively involved in the strategic development of the company, focusing on the commercial, institutional and residential sectors. His responsibilities encompass activities related to the development of properties and sites, including redevelopment projects, the commissioning of new buildings and the repositioning of real estate assets. Prior to join BUSAC in 2015, Alex was an Associate Vice President with Brookfield Financial where he focused on executing commercial brokerage transactions in multiple asset classes including office, retail, industrial, multi-family, senior’s residences and development lands in the Greater Montreal Area since 2011. He was involved on notable transactions including the financial advisory mandate for the development of Manulife Head Office (Maison Manuvie) and the CBC redevelopment, a P3 and real estate development.
Alexandre started his career as real estate broker in 2008 at CBRE where he provided brokerage services to a wide variety of clients, including advising retailers such as Shopper’s Drugmart, CIBC, Sobey’s and Michaels focusing on site selection, acquisition and disposition of surplus properties in Quebec. While at CBRE, Alex was also involved in multiple land development projects, urban redevelopment studies and market studies in the office, industrial and retail sectors.
Prior to work in the real estate industry, Alex has worked for SNC-Lavalin undertaking environmental impact assessment on power and mining projects in Africa for clients such as The World Bank and Rio Tinto Alcan. Alex is a LEED Accredited Professional and an accredited Real Estate Broker (Québec). He is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and a Master of Science.
