I have over 29 years of real estate consulting, leasing, financial advisory, and valuation experience, advising clients on matters including pre- and post-transaction strategy, acquisition due diligence and analysis, lease analysis-structuring and classification testing, sale and leasebacks, lease vs buy analysis, mergers and acquisitions, tax and financial reporting, financial modeling, development, and public-private partnerships. I have served on the AICPA task force as the lead author of industry guidance relating to new lease accounting (ASC 842), development of incremental borrowing rates, and the impact of the new standard on off-market leases in a business combination. I also work closely with the Deloitte National Office on various lease accounting issues, including derivation of incremental borrowing rates, asset impairment/valuation, and has assisted major program account clients with new lease accounting, right-of-use asset/lease liability measurement, IBR, and other transition issues. I am regularly involved as an advisor to multiple private and public real estate investment trusts, investment firms, and companies with large real estate and tangible asset footprints. I have provided advisory services on multiple international projects located in more than 30 countries for public and private entities.
