Noah Shlaes is a technologist and futurist focused on corporate real estate decisions. His career has included the development of DCF software in the pre-Argus era, portfolio valuations at Arthur Andersen, leading the consulting arm of Grubb & Ellis, and creating the Global Operations Center for Newmark's real estate tech platform. From teaching appraisal in Bulgaria to explaining real estate development to art students, he's known for making real estate issues clear, memorable and relevant. Shlaes has advised international banks, utilities, manufacturers, railroads, hospital systems, universities, investors, developers, owners and governments on real estate matters in the US, Canada, Mexico and Bulgaria. He led the development of the energy management plan for Microsoft’s North American Campus, and the operating model for the real estate department of the City of San Diego. He served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Counselors of Real Estate in 2015, and has presented at MIPIM Japan and worked to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with JAREC. He is based in Oak Park, Illinois and Somesville, Maine. He has also served as President of the Realty Club of Chicago, and Chair of the Board of Camp Fire USA – Chicago.
