Mr. Pennell is responsible for commercial , mixed use and large multi family (4 of more unit) assessments for the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge contains nearly $70 billion worth of taxable properties and the $32 billion commercial group are responsible for nearly 60% of the tax burden. The assessors establish Fee Simple assessments, subject to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) guidelines and requirements. The commercial group consists of biotech/laboratory , Investment office, retail plaza and mall, industrial warehouse, R&D and special purpose properties including hotels and assisted living facilities. Our office establish computer assisted software (CAMA) and adjustments refine the economic rents and ratios. Mr. Pennell also assists the city attorney and a third party consultant with tax payer appeals and Appellate Tax Board Matters.
