Atlas Capital Advisors, focuses on advisory, asset management, portfolio acquisitions, foreclosure and disposition work for banks, special servicers, portfolio buyers, private investors, litigation firms and government agencies. By court order, Atlas has been appointed provisional director, provisional manager, and custodian, where partners are in protracted litigation. Financial institutions have appointed Atlas as restructuring officer where principals are in need of transparent and urgent restructuring to avoid foreclosure. Atlas advises high net worth clients on acquisitions, and aids in evaluating their real estate holdings to ensure top down synergies between a focused strategy, core competencies, and strong complimentary management. In many cases Atlas functions as in-house asset management on the real estate portfolio. Atlas and its investors have assisted in providing debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing, asset based lending, and turnaround management to companies in bankruptcy. Prior to Atlas Capital Advisors, Mr. Haboucha was a Senior Vice President and region head at iStar Financial, as well as a member of the firm’s special advisory committee. He was responsible for the asset management of a large portfolio of structured finance and commercial real estate assets, with a high proportion of hotels, golf courses, water parks, movie theaters, condo-tels, condo and mixed-use properties with heavy concentrations in Hawaii, Florida, Texas, California, Arizona, and New York. The spectrum covered undeveloped land, entitlement, subdivision, construction, and repositioning existing properties. Prior to joining iStar, he held the position of Vice President and National Manager of Special Assets at Fremont Investment where he supported the growth of the real estate portfolio from $100 million in loans located in California to the nationwide $6.5 billion commercial real estate portfolio that Fremont held in 2007. Mr. Haboucha holds an MBA in corporate, structured, and real estate finance, is a graduate of McGill University and Loyola/Sir George Williams University in Montreal, is a licensed Real Estate Broker, a Counselor of Real Estate, and a past Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
