A Closer Look
Andrew Foster, CRE, has over two decades of commercial real estate finance experience including roles as an asset manager, credit ratings analyst, and trade association executive. He leads CMBS business development at Kroll Bond Rating Agency. He’s held leadership roles at three global credit rating agencies focused on commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) business development, credit analysis, and servicer evaluations. He led member engagement, recruitment, and retention activities at the Mortgage Bankers Association where his responsibilities included relationship management, business development, as well as working closely with its Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG). He coauthored white paper, “The Role of CMBS in Financing Commercial and Multifamily Real Estate in America” with several COMBOG members in 2019. Foster began his commercial real estate career handling loan workouts, note sales, and REO dispositions at Greystone, a CMBS special servicer and b-piece buyer where he contributed to the resolution of approximately $3 billion of defaulted loans and REO. He is a prolific writer and speaker on topics related to commercial mortgages, CMBS, and CRE securitization.
