Chicago, IL, January 3, 2022—The Counselors of Real Estate®, an international consortium of prominent commercial property advisors, has announced its 2022 leadership team. Marilee A. Utter, CRE, 2022 Global Chair, will lead the 1,000-member organization. She is president of Citiventure Associates, LLC, in Denver, Colorado.
Invited to Counselor membership in 1996, Ms. Utter has developed strategies and solutions for land use problems in more than 40 cities in the U.S. and globally, with an expertise in transit-oriented development. She received degrees in mathematics and French from Colorado Women’s College, an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business, and holds a certificate in state and local public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. Ms. Utter also holds the FRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
As 2022 First Vice Chair, William P.J. McCarthy, CRE, president of W.P.J. McCarthy and Company Ltd. in Burnaby, British Columbia, will assume the chairmanship of The Counselors of Real Estate in 2023. Invited to Counselor membership in 1995, Mr. McCarthy is primarily involved in real property advisory services, property development, leasing, and management. He holds six university degrees. He will be only the third Canadian to serve as chair since The Counselors organization was established in 1953. Mr. McCarthy also holds the FRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the CPM designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Anthony F. DellaPelle, Esq, CRE, a partner in the law firm of McKirdy, Riskin, Olson, & DellaPelle in Morris Plains, New Jersey, is the Second Vice Chair of The Counselors of Real Estate. He handles eminent domain, condemnation, redevelopment law, and real estate tax appeals. Mr. DellaPelle is also a certified civil trial attorney and is the only New Jersey attorney selected to the Owners Counsel of America, a nationwide association of leading eminent domain lawyers. Invited to Counselor membership in 2011, Mr. DellaPelle attended Franklin & Marshall College and earned a JD degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
