Biography
Lawrence S. DiCara, Esquire
Larry DiCara served on the Boston City Council for ten years and has been intimately involved with the development process in Boston for many decades. While on the City Council, he actively participated in many of the decisions which made Boston the city it is today: Quincy Market, Copley Place, Charlestown Navy Yard, etc. As an attorney in private practice, Larry represented a wide array of clients with matters in cities and towns across the Commonwealth.
Larry has been certified as a mediator, is a member of the REBA panel and has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution of the Trial Court.
Larry is also a published author and frequently lectures and writes about development-related issues. He has been an active citizen of the Greater Boston community for almost five decades and has been appointed by mayors and governors to serve on a number of public boards. He has also chaired A Better City, the Boston Municipal Research Bureau and other organizations and served as an officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Boston Bar Association.
Larry is a graduate of Boston Latin School, Harvard College, Suffolk Law School and the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He is also the recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Massachusetts.
