Abstract: The field of appraising environmentally impaired properties has progressed to where hands-on experiences may be shared in the form of case studies. In this article the case studies concentrate on the problems encountered in the appraisal of ‘in ground’ contamination rather than the valuation of ‘in building’ contamination with substances such as asbestos or radon. The valuation methods used in these case studies reflect conditions at present time.
