Review: The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century

Winter 2009-2010, Vol. 34, No. 3
Abstract: In reviewing this geopolitical perspective by author George Friedman of the next several decades and beyond, CRE Julie McIntosh recalls the days of school children hiding under desks in the event the U.S. would be “nuked.” Today, and over the next several decades, we are and will be behaving differently for various reasons, depending on nations and how their leaders respond to self-interest and external events, according to the author. Calling this book “…a great tool for understanding the current world and relationships and thinking about how it all relates to the past, giving us a possible roadmap for the future,” McIntosh gives the book a “thumbs up.”
