Abstract: With real estate markets showing signs of recovery in France and Japan, and the shift in institutional investment away from single assets and into securitized offerings, astute investors now have an opportunity to reap large rewards. As the United States real estate market has recovered, value-oriented investors have had an increasingly difficult time acquiring domestic properties at attractive prices. At the same time, the growing global focus of all investors, not just those focused on real estate, has made investing overseas more commonplace.
