Abstract: The 55 and over age group is a vast growing segment of the U.S. population which should be of interest of home builders. Current trends indicate that this group is better educated, earns higher income and is more mobile than other segments of the population. With proper attention to market segmentation and product design, location, pricing and promotion, home builders may be able to take advantage of the opportunities this market affords.
