Abstract: Radical changes in the money markets since October 1979 have altered the structure of real estate financing and transactions, and caused critics to question the validity of real estate appraisals. This article reviews the impact of change on traditional valuation methodology and examines how appraisers and consultants can approach valuation problems under conditions of great uncertainty.
