Abstract: As any seasoned dealmaker knows, there are regulatory hurdles that need to be addressed before initiating any transaction. Now, we can add a new environmental regulation to the list. Purchasers of commercial property, and those who receive site specific brownfields grants, must follow a new federal rule governing environmental due diligence if they wish to obtain federal liability protection.
