Abstract: The closed or lineal approach to solving problems has its limitations. Computerization has permitted appraisers, counselors, lenders and investors to see a greatly diffused picture by using what if logic when analyzing a property. The article introduces a theoretical structure of information as it applies to real estate, and uses the valuation of an income property to illustrate its use.
