Abstract: The problems associated with building and financing low-income housing projects are formidable. There are substantial opportunities and pitfalls involved in acquiring state approval and in selling the tax credit programs. Still, Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code offers opportunities for developers and consultants who want to build low-income housing projects. This article addresses some of the complexities involved in building low-income housing.
