Abstract: On January 11, 2002, President Bush signed the Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act (the Act) into law. The Act amends the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), also known as the “Superfund Law,” in a number of significant ways that may affect purchasers in certain real property transactions.
