I am responsible for the assessment and re-certification of commercial and large multi family (four of more unit) properties in the city of Cambridge, a diverse real estate community containing $55 Billion of residential and commercial (Biotech/laboratory , Investment office, Retail shopping and Mall, mixed use and special purpose properties.( Hotels and Elder Care facilities). The commercial and large multi-family properties pay approximately 65% the total tax burden. I review owner income and expense statements and create computer assisted economic rent, vacancies and expense ratios, capitalization rates and adjustment tables that refine the rents and ratios. I am also responsible for tax payer abatement applications and Appellate Tax Board Matters.
