He has been a Senior Advisor to Delos, pioneer of the WELL Building Standard® and Executive Director of the Green Building Finance Consortium. For 13 years, he has led the movement to scale sustainable property investment by fully integrating health, wellness, productivity, and other benefits into property sustainability investment decisions.
Mr. Muldavin’s 2010 book: "Value Beyond Cost Savings: How to Underwrite Sustainable Properties" and his practice guides: "How to Calculate and Present Deep Retrofit Value for Owner Occupants" (2014) and a companion guide for Investors (April 2015), are the first to detail how to calculate the financial performance of specific property sustainability investments. Similiar work documenting the methodology and data supporting financial decision-making involving healthy buildings is presented on his website.
Mr. Muldavin’s sustainability work builds on his foundation of real estate experience. He serves as President of The Muldavin Company, Inc., a real estate consulting firm; co-founded of Guggenheim Real Estate, a multi-billion-dollar private real estate company; was a lead real estate consulting partner at Deloitte; served on the Advisory Board of Global Real Analytics, an advisor to $2 billion of REIT and CMBS funds and has completed over 300 consulting engagements involving real estate finance, investment, valuation, securitization, corporate real estate, and sustainability.
Mr. Muldavin is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Harvard University, a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and has published over 250 books and articles on real estate finance, investment and sustainability.
